8th & 9th July 2014

Last 2 days the temperature has been scorching reading 98F on one of the boards we seen so we've been like 4 big drips walking round NY sweating like troopers who must sweat really bad if the saying is to be believed.

We spent the whole day yesterday over in Hoboken (pronounced Hob-oken) sorting out a few bits and pieces and trying to get an apartment sorted.  Leigh has really taken to Hoboken and has likened it to the top of the Lisburn Road (and im praying its not as expensive as that).  The main street is called Washington Street and seems to be quite lively, Leigh has also sussed out some yoga and running classes although she can do that on her own.... :-)

The apartments varied with our favourite interiors being in unfavourable locations and our favourite locations having unfavourable interiors so we have another 7 lined up to view tomorrow.  It all proves difficult as their advertising is hopeless.  You see a nice apartment that says 1st and A Street and when you go to see it its on 12th and W Street and the pictures were from a different apartment!  Ridiculous.  UK Estate agents could make a killing over here!

The waterfront in Hoboken
It was a long day with our first viewing at 12 and our last at 7 and in the middle we visited the AT&T store 6 times, yes 6!

  1. Initial visit - Told to call back in 20 mins to see if deposit could be waived
  2. Assistant was busy and we had another viewing
  3. Assistant was busy
  4. Phones were network locked, had to go get them unlocked
  5. Lost Leigh, she called in to see if I was there
  6. Final visit all setup and ready to rock
In between all that we visited the pub and watched Germany thrash Brazil 7-1 and had some BBQ ribs, it was supposed to come with fries but Ben ate all mine.

p.s. Also seen this in Hoboken while I was over, always handy to know!  Hahahaha

Today was a more relaxed day with a walk around Central Park and some general much needed chilling

All by myself.....dont wanna be.....

And relax

Leigh trying to catch an afternoon nap, not much chance of that!

However even with everything new thats happening in our lives at the minute we wouldn't be anywhere without the love and support of our wonderful families who we miss and think about every day.  Special mention to my wonderful Mum whos birthday is tomorrow (and she spent today cleaning up our house making it look amazing with my Dad).  We all love you so much Mum and were sorry we cant be there with you.  Hope you have a great birthday.  Missing you loads xxx

My amazing Mum xx
